- How escrow protects your money on Vergeo5Your payment is held safely by Vergeo5 until you confirm delivery — so you never pay a stranger and just hope for the best.
- Is my money safe when I pay?Yes. Payments are held in escrow by Vergeo5 and only released to the vendor after you confirm delivery.
- When are funds released to the vendor?Escrow releases when you confirm delivery, or automatically 48 hours after an order is marked delivered.
Buying & payments
- What is Vergeo5?Vergeo5 is Zambia's mobile-first marketplace for products, services and events, with escrow-protected payments.
- How to place an orderAdd items to your cart, choose delivery or pickup, pay by mobile money or card, and track everything from your account.
- Which payment methods can I use?Pay by MTN or Airtel mobile money, debit or credit card, or cash on delivery for orders up to K500.
- How does cash on delivery work?Cash on delivery is available for orders up to K500. Larger orders are paid by mobile money at pickup or prepaid.
- Paying with mobile moneyApprove an MTN or Airtel push prompt on your phone to pay. Funds go into escrow, not straight to the vendor.
Delivery & pickup
- Delivery areas and feesDelivery is available across Lusaka, with free delivery on orders over K200. Nationwide orders use pickup or courier freight.
- Picking up an order with QR and PINCollect your order safely by showing your unique QR code and PIN. This confirms handover and releases escrow.
- Tracking your orderFollow your order status in your account and through WhatsApp and SMS updates at every step.
Returns & refunds
- Returns — faulty, wrong or not as describedReport a faulty, wrong or misdescribed item within 48 hours with a photo for a full refund from escrow.
- Returns — change of mindSome listings allow change-of-mind returns within a set window. A restocking fee and transport costs may apply.
- How refunds workRefunds before release come straight from escrow. After release, they are recovered from the vendor's next payouts.
Events & tickets
- Buying event ticketsBuy fixed, tiered or free RSVP tickets. Each ticket has a secure rotating QR code and a PIN for entry.
- Using your ticket at the doorShow the live rotating QR from the app, plus your PIN if asked. Screenshots will not scan.
- Transferring a ticket to a friendYou can transfer a ticket to a friend from the app. The QR and PIN move to their ticket securely.
Selling on Vergeo5
- How to start selling on Vergeo5Create a vendor account, complete quick KYC, list your products or services, and get paid within 48 hours.
- Vendor verification (KYC)Verify with an NRC photo and a selfie that matches your mobile-money name to go live, often the same day.
- How and when vendors get paidPayouts happen after escrow releases — within 48 hours, and usually within minutes on mobile money.
